BURLESQUE ATTRACTION POSTER for the Pilgrim Theater, Boston, MAOriginal hand-painted sign featuring "Nation's Number 1 ECDYSIAST" "Amber Mist" from long-gone Combat Zone landmark theater.True Burlesque review circa 1970. Featuring other talent, as well as comedy acts. Very rare one-of-a-kind poster that was displayed in the front lobby window.
I personally rescued this at the Pilgrim Theater on Oct. 31st in the mid to late 90's. The last day it was open for business. Halloween evening still operating as a hardcore gay movie house. This non-corrugated cardboard sign was in the upper storage attic of the theater behind the balcony. Many small rooms were crudely made with 2 x 4s and chicken wire. These signs were wired to the chicken wire for privacy (ick). Unfortunately, most were ruined by water damage due to neglect to the theater's roof. This was the only complete one I was able to save and it is in the same "as found" condition from that adventurous night.
Measures 28" x 40".
Condition: Fine overall. Photo has 1.5" tear to top center. multiple small staple holes where it was reused often. Hole above letter "C" in Candy.Rigid thin board is stamped "Crescent Quality Board" repeatedly on back.
