This is not a cheap tool. Very well engineered. Once table is flat you can turn laser on its sides, back or angled edges. Its plenty bright. I don't think a lot of these were made and that was some time ago. Honestly I don't know what kind of battery it uses but I will look when I get a chance. Underside of Base has a 1/4 inch mount to quickly attach to a tripod. The unrecognizable object in the box is a protective case.  .95 to ship in USA.
